Their son Albert, born nearby in 1907, later created the Albert & Ethel Herzstein Charitable Foundation, which has supported New Mexico institutions such as the University of New Mexico, today the family is honored through the Herzstein Memorial Museum in Clayton, which preserves regional history from the Santa Fe Trail era to the Dust Bowl.
