Ability to speak, read, and edit Spanish is a plus.Responsibilities and DutiesEdit, proofread, and fact-check copy for the weekly newspaper and website, including the Tempo arts section and special sections, with extreme proficiency, accuracy, and consistency.Enter data into the weekly calendar and compile community announcements for both print and web.Be a team player with a willingness to assist with any project.Report to the managing editor.Qualifications and SkillsA qualified candidate must have:• Accustomed to working in a newsroom;• Have an excellent grasp of English grammar, syntax, and punctuation; well-versed in AP Style; ability to rapidly pick up in-house style• Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills; Spanish editing skills a plus.
