New Mexico Consortium (NMC), a 501c3 company, is seeking an experienced Research Administration (RA) to support a complex portfolio of sponsored research projects, including federal grants and contracts. This role partners closely with researchers to manage proposal and award activities, ensuring compliance, accurate budgeting, and reliable projections. The RA will play a key role in promoting accountability and strong stewardship of research funds, and will serve as a trusted advisor and liaison among investigators, institutional leadership, and external sponsors, particularly on complex, collaborative, or multi-organizational awards.Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's Degree, 2+ years of experience in research administration, including at least 1 year in post-award administration.Core Competencies and Skills: Strong working knowledge of federal regulations and sponsor requirements (e.g., Uniform Guidance, NSF, DOD, DOE, USDA, NASA, private foundations); advanced expertise in both pre- and post-award administration, including budget management, reporting, forecasting, compliance monitoring, and award closeout; demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to financial and administrative challenges; ability to develop, streamline, and improve processes to enhance efficiency and strengthen internal controls; strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.The position entails work in one of NMC's offices in Albuquerque, Santa Fe, or Los Alamos, New Mexico, with the possibility of hybrid or flexible work arrangements.Full-time, exempt. 403b matching.
